Well, we are pleased to announce that we are the proud parents of a beautiful 2 year old girl! This is our first girl and I am very excited to add some estrogen to this family... I've been feeling pretty outnumbered!
2009 is over half way complete. Scary. I'm usually not one for making New Years Resolutions simply due to my poor track record in the past. This year I made one I have never made before and this morning I realized I'm still on track to complete it. Shocking.
What was this miraculous resolution that is actually attainable?
I decided to read a book a month. Simple.
So far this is what I have read this year:
*January: The Shack (Young)
*February: Irresistible Revolution (Claiborne)
*March: The Book of Negros (Hill)
*April: The Alchemist (Coelho)
*May: The Book of Negros(Hill) - no this isn't a typo... I just HAD to read it again.
*June: So you don't want to go to Church anymore? (Jacobsen/Coleman)
July: Three Cups of Tea (Mortenson)
I have a stack of books to pick from for the rest of the year but if you have a suggestion for an amazing book you've read please post it... I'm open for suggestions! I have put an asterisk beside the books I own so if you would like to borrow one... just give me a shout, I would recommend all of them.
(If you live outside of Canada the book by Lawrence Hill was released as "Someone knows my name" instead of "The Book of Negros".)

I'm new to Kijiji but this past week the family and I drove down to Port Hope to pick up a cap for our truck. It's silver and from a much older model ford so it doesn't fit perfectly, but it fits! And lets face it, we saved around $1900 from buying one new.
It just goes to show... one man's junk is another girls treasure!
When we got it home and I took a good look at it I was pretty bummed because it REALLY detracted from the paint job. We then proceeded to get rain, so I couldn't do a thing about it.
FINALLY on Thursday I got enough sunlight without rain in the forcast to get a base coat on it. Here are a few pictures just in case you didn't think you would recognize it when I drive past you on a busy street. It's not even close to being done, but as I type it's raining outside. Again.
SO, the next time you wan't something, check out the used sites around and save a perfectly good piece of whatever from a landfill!

Well, something just broke and it made me sad. Really my only recourse is to pitch it. This is why Dave and I are slowly converting everything to metal, wood, stone, fabric, any natural material.
There is an AMAZING free video on the topic of STUFF that I think EVERYONE should watch... so here it is, please take a minute to check it out, just click the picture below:
